[Rydia awakes almost immediately after the dream ends, a muffled gasp escaping into her pillow. Shaken, she pushes herself up and swings her legs over the edge of the bed. Images of that dream -of the sea of women with her appearance, of the crystals and their anguish, of that glowing entity- are all too vivid in her mind, as is the fear in that entity's voice.

Uncertain what to do, she stares at the linkshell on her bedstand. It's tempting to leave a message, but she's in no frame of mind to manage a coherent one just yet. So instead, she stands and lights a candle, intent on brewing tea. Further sleep is just not happening tonight.]

Bed feels funny. Like the whole world is going to eat me.

[She's not really used to the idea of not sleeping in a capsule. The laundry basket is the closest thing.]

[She reaches out to stroke the little girl's hair gently.]

You'll get used to it. Would it help to share my bed for a while? I don't usually get up in the middle of the night. It was just that dream....

It's like a story that happens in your head, while you're asleep.

[She frowns a bit, feeling the need to amend that.]

...well, this one was too vivid for that. It was more like a memory, only none of mine.

[She nods, apparently recognizing the idea.]

Stories happen at me a lot when I'm asleep.

They do? Good stories or scary ones?

Silly ones. About fires and crystals and father and dragons and machines.

[Rydia frowns softly, unsettled by where this is going.]
